No-Bake Chocolate Oat Protein Bars
These simple bars need just five pantry ingredients and no oven. Warm almond butter and honey bind the oats, protein powder and dark chocolate chips into a chewy, satisfying bar. Make a batch for grab-and-go breakfasts or a snack after the gym.

Preparation Steps
Line a small loaf pan or 8 x 4-inch (20 x 10 cm) dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang so you can lift the bars out.
Stir the oats, protein powder and chocolate chips together in a mixing bowl.
Warm the almond butter and honey together in a small saucepan over low heat, or in the microwave in 15-second bursts, stirring until smooth and runny.
Pour the warm almond butter mixture over the dry ingredients and stir until everything is evenly coated. If it seems too dry to hold together, add another teaspoon of almond butter or honey.
Tip the mixture into the pan and press it down very firmly with the back of a spoon or a flat-bottomed glass.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, until firm, then lift out and cut into bars.
Tips & Variations
- Pressing the mixture firmly is what keeps the bars from crumbling, so don't skip it.
- Peanut butter or sunflower seed butter can replace the almond butter, and maple syrup can replace the honey.
- Keep the bars in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
