Who we are

Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account details when you sign up: your name, email address, password (stored encrypted) and an optional profile photo.
• Content you post: recipes, photos, comments and replies. Your name and photo are shown next to what you publish.
• Messages you send us by email.

Information collected automatically

• Usage and device information such as pages visited, time spent, browser type, device type, approximate location (country or city, from your IP address) and referring website, collected through Google Analytics and our advertising partners.
• Cookies and similar technologies, described below.

How we use information

• To run the website: sign-in, publishing recipes and comments, saving favourites.
• To keep the community safe: moderating content, handling reports, and preventing spam and abuse.
• To understand how the site is used and improve it.
• To show advertising that keeps Yummy free.
• To answer your messages and requests.

We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and local storage

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We and our partners use them to remember your preferences, measure traffic and show ads. The site also uses your browser's local storage to remember that you are signed in, your favourite recipes and your light or dark mode choice. You can clear cookies and local storage at any time in your browser settings; some features may then stop working until you sign in again.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.

Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages visited and device type. You can prevent this with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Sharing your information

We share information only:

• with service providers who help us run Yummy (hosting, analytics, advertising), under their own privacy terms;
• publicly, when you choose to publish recipes or comments;
• when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

How long we keep information

We keep your account and content while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, recipes and comments, except where we must keep some information to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict some uses of it. You can edit your profile in your account, delete your account in the app (Settings → Delete account), or email us at chefaicook@elmo9f.ma. We will reply within 30 days.

Children

Yummy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, such as encrypted connections (HTTPS) and encrypted passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Our apps

This policy covers the website. The Yummy apps on the App Store and Google Play follow the same principles; their store pages describe the data they collect.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will change the "Last updated" date above, and for important changes we will show a notice on the site.
