Three Fruit and Vegetable Smoothies: Orange, Berry and Green
Here are three quick smoothies that use everyday fruits and vegetables. The orange one is bright and citrusy, the berry one is creamy and sweet, and the green one is light and refreshing. Make one for breakfast or blend all three for a colorful brunch spread.

Preparation Steps
For the orange smoothie, put the water or orange juice in the blender with the orange, pineapple, carrot, banana and a few ice cubes. Blend on high for about 1 minute, until no carrot pieces remain.
Pour into a glass and sprinkle with chia seeds. Add a mint sprig if you have one. Rinse the blender.
For the berry smoothie, blend the almond milk or yogurt with the berries, banana and honey until thick and creamy, about 45 seconds.
Pour into a glass and top with a few pomegranate seeds and mint leaves. Rinse the blender again.
For the green smoothie, blend the coconut water with the spinach first for 20 seconds so the leaves break down fully, then add the cucumber, banana and ice and blend until smooth.
Pour into a glass, sprinkle with chia seeds and serve all three smoothies right away.
Tips & Variations
- Freeze peeled, sliced bananas ahead of time; they make every smoothie thicker and colder without extra ice.
- Kale works in place of spinach in the green smoothie, and mango can replace the pineapple in the orange one.
- Smoothies taste best freshly made. Keep any extra covered in the fridge for up to 24 hours and stir before serving.
