Reindeer Christmas Cheese Ball with Pecans
This savory cheddar, Parmesan and cream cheese ball is rolled in crunchy nuts and decorated with pretzel antlers, candy eyes and a red nose to look like a reindeer. It is easy to make ahead and always gets smiles. Serve it with crackers and vegetables at Christmas parties and holiday gatherings.

Preparation Steps
In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, cheddar, Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt and pepper until smooth and well combined.
Scrape the mixture onto a large sheet of plastic wrap. Gather the wrap around it and press it into a round ball.
Refrigerate the wrapped ball for 1 to 2 hours, until firm enough to hold its shape.
Spread the crushed nuts on a plate. Unwrap the cheese ball and roll it in the nuts, pressing gently so they stick all over.
Set the ball on a serving platter. Push the two pretzels into the top for antlers, then press in the candy eyes and the red nose.
Serve right away with crackers, pretzels and vegetables, or keep it chilled until ready to serve.
Tips & Variations
- Wet your hands slightly when shaping the ball so the cheese does not stick to them.
- Add 2 tablespoons of chopped chives or crumbled cooked bacon to the mixture for extra flavor.
- Add the decorations shortly before serving. Keep the cheese ball covered in the fridge for up to 4 days, and do not leave it out for more than 2 hours.
