Mississippi Sin Dip Baked in a Bread Bowl
Mississippi sin dip is a rich, creamy mix of cheddar, cream cheese, sour cream and diced ham, baked inside a crusty bread loaf until hot and bubbly. The bread you pull out becomes the dippers, and the bowl itself can be torn up and eaten at the end. It is a crowd-pleaser for game days and holiday parties.

Preparation Steps
Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, stir together the cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar, ham, green onion, jalapenos if using, Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce until evenly mixed.
Slice the top off the bread loaf and set it aside. Pull out the soft inside, leaving a shell about 1 inch (2.5 cm) thick. Tear the removed bread into bite-size pieces for dipping.
Spoon the dip into the bread bowl, put the top back on and wrap the whole loaf in aluminum foil.
Bake on a baking sheet for about 1 hour, until the dip is hot and melted all the way through.
Unwrap, remove the lid and serve warm with the bread pieces, crackers or vegetables.
Tips & Variations
- Toast the torn bread pieces on a separate tray for the last 10 minutes of baking so they are crisp for dipping.
- Swap the ham for crumbled cooked bacon or diced cooked chicken.
- Do not leave the dip at room temperature for more than 2 hours. Refrigerate leftover dip, scooped out of the bread, for up to 3 days and reheat until steaming hot.
